I love pretty plated food. However simple & easy is a must to be realistic for me. I often throw together salad or simple plates. Because life. I often use this berry simple salad recipe, particularly for a late breakfast, when my caffeine is running low. It offers a great pick me up w/instant energy. #simpleandsatisfying

Blueberries Nutrition Facts:

They contain Vitamin K1, C & manganese, B6, Vitamin E, copper & fiber.


Thier also known for their awesome antioxidants, like anthocyanins, quercetin (think heart health) & myricetin (cancer & diabetes prevention)


Harvest in your local area or go to a u-pick if possible. Food gathered from as close to its home-grown roots will be more nutrient dense + last longer. Berries are in season right now in norther areas (May-Sep) depending on region & natures timeline) get out & gather what you can! Don't forget getting outside reduces cortisol. Win. Win. (Please go out prepared!)

Strawberries Nutrition Fact:

They contain vitamin C, manganese, folate (B9), & potassium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin B6, K & E.

Also known for their quality antioxidants, especially rich in pelargonidin, anthocyanin & ellagic acid (think bad bacteria fighter & cancer killer).


Easy to see on a cellular level why berries should be added to your diet. Unless you like chronic disease. I suppose then these colorful nutrient dense beauties should be skipped.


Berries + greens are great, but please remember balance is key to everything. This is what the nuts & or chicken breast in my recipe brings. Protein increases levelized blood sugar, muscle & memory health, as well as feeling fuller longer, IE sustainable.


Please note I also use maple syrup in my dressing. All sugar isn't bad! In fact, when using REAL pure maple syrup (read your labels y'all) you'll add nutrients. I especially love the level of manganese, zinc & potassium it provides. Oddly it also provides a decent amount of antioxidants too, take that corn syrup! Please keep in mind, moderation is key folks.
